Apple (and blackberry) Crumble Recipe

Nothing beats a large helping of homemade apple crumble! Why not try our recipe below? Make yours using our Enamel Roasting Dish and don't forget the custard!

Ingredients:

4 x good sized cooking apples, peeled and cut into chunks

1 punnet of blackberries

Zest from ½ a lemon

2 tablespoons of sugar

Half a block of cold butter

A cup of caster sugar

A cup of flour

Half a cp of ground almonds

A handful of flaked almonds

Method:

Preheat the oven to 108°C/350°F/ Gas mark 4.

Put the peeled apples, blackberries, lemon zest and sugar in an ovenproof dish and toss to combine.

To make the crumble rub together the butter, sugar, flour and the ground almonds.

Put the crumble on top of the fruit and scatter the almonds over the top.

Cook in the oven for 40 minutes(ish) until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble topping is a golden brown.

Leave the crumble to cool before serving with lashings of cream (or custard).
